Quotes for Education

September 28th, 2006

Upon the subject of education, not presuming to dictate any plan or system respecting it, I can only say that I view it as the most important subject which we as a people may be engaged in. That everyone may receive at least a moderate education appears to be an objective of vital importance.

Tired?

September 28th, 2006

Are you tired every single day when when you wake up?

WHY?

Pretend you sleep at 6 p.m. and you wake up at 3:00 p.m. the next day, but why are you still tired?

WHY??!!

Alot of people say that frienship will last for a long time, but I’ve seen friendship torn to pieces.  Normally people make friendship last at least for a month.  I’ve now seen friendship last for only days.  Friendship is hard to get.  Of an example, your best friends today and tomorow you worst enemies.  So don’t take friendship for granted, but my only question is why does it last for only a while

Facing Major Problems

September 27th, 2006

Mary is an eighth grader and, until recently, pretty popular at school. Lately, she started finding notes in her locker and in her backpack that were really upsetting. The notes were unsigned and mean. They said things like: “ We don’t like how you’re treading on our territory.” “ You act like a bitch.” And even, “ You better watch out because we’re watching you…”

Mary had no idea who might be sending the notes but she had an idea why. In the last few months she had started accepting invitations to high school parties. She had also fooled around with a couple of sophomore guys. She had a feeling that the notes were from some of the high school girls. She knew how gossip got around and how mean other people said the sophomore girls were.

What was she supposed to do? Almost every day this week she received a note. She felt angry, scared, and hurt. She showed the notes to two of her friends. One of them said that whoever is sending them was probably just jealous and she should just ignore them. The other friend said she should show them to a teacher.

Mary felt like there was no good choice. If she tried to ignore the notes she was afraid they would just continue, and she was not only scared, she was mad. She wanted them to stop. But if she turned in the notes, she was sure the whole school would find out and she would probably have to name names as to who she thought was sending them. If the gossip was bad now, wouldn’t’ it be worse then?

Mary should tell even though it goes around school. I don’t really care, because if something bothers me I would tell!!!!!!

If I have was in Mary’s place I would still tell my parents and my teachers or the principle.

If someone in my school was like mary, I would help him or her. If she doesn’t want my help, I’ll just be sneaky. HEHE Just kidding!!!!!

People only gossip because it puts others down and get them popular. I have done alot of Gossip to get attention and it really hurts me now because others are doing what I’ve done bad.

Please help those in your school or community. If you help you even helping one of a million people that have that problem.

Problems people face

September 27th, 2006

Maria was worried about her good friend Pam. Pam was always talking about how fat she was and what she was trying to do about it. But the truth is that Pam was not at all fat. In fact, she was downright skinny. Since their freshmen year Pam had lost at least 15 pounds. Now, they were juniors and Maria was afraid that Pam had an eating disorder. Maria was also getting frustrated. Where were all the grown-ups? Who was watching out for Pam besides Maria and her friends?

Maria knew that someone from their school had talked to Pam’s parents last year, and that Pam’s mom had gotten angry about the school poking its nose into family business. Pam’s mom claimed that Pam had a dancer’s body and a high metabolism. That was last year. Now things were worse and Maria felt like she was literally watching her friend disappear.

Finally, one Monday afternoon Maria had had enough. As she watched Pam take three diet pills and eat four grapes for lunch she decided she had to do something. As helpless and scared as she felt now, how would it compare to how she would feel if Pam actually ended up in the hospital…or worse? Pam would be furious if she found out the Maria had talked to someone behind her back. So, Maria had two problems–should she tell someone how bad things were, and if so, whom should she go to?

Maria should go to a nutritionists, teachers, her parents, the school’s advicer.  If she doesn’t do anything Pam might die.  If she talks to these people Maria can save her friend and understand whats going on.

If I was on the same position as Maria I would talk to doctors and my parents and of course my teachers.

If Maria tells Pam that she told someone, Pam should be mad, but if she was mad then she doesn’t know if she can trust her friends.  Pam should trust Maria because Maria is her friend and friends help friends.

I’ve been in this position, but I really don’t want to talk about it.  It’s kind of too personal for me to tell.

LEADERS

September 25th, 2006

Leaders are like the citizens, but they try to keep their country out of chaos.  Leaders make alot of policies like taxes and bills.  They need money to insure more things in the city or country.  Their safety depends on the leader.  They all share one community, but the more they fight less work will be done.  Leaders can make mistakes in many things, but they try not to.  Pressure is put onto leader thous giving the leader pain.

Leaders should have alot of qualities.  Leaders need to be prepared in alot of things like war, complaints, policies, building problems, and alot more.  The country want alot of things from the leader.  Leaders must face death and pain for his or her country.

I look up to many leaders.  I look up to different leaders. Some most are not my culture, but I believed that different leaders make good leadership.  I look up to God because he created me and he made me exist in this world.

If I was a leader I would ask the people what they want.  Leadership is a big responsibility.  I don’t think I would fit as a leader :P. I’m kind of a goof ball :P.

Me being a leader is a bad thing…I think because I like to cause chaos :P. Well not really I still am very nice.

What about you? Answer these Questions yourself :P
1.  In your own words, what do you think a LEADER should be?

What are the qualities of a person that a leader should have?

Who is the leader that you look up to or insipred by?

  1. If you were a leader, what would you do?
  2. What would you be a leader of?

Leaders In Our History

September 22nd, 2006

For almost a week, we have been doing a project in computer class about leaders. I’ve done many leaders like Richard Nixon, Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King Jr.,Roh Moo Hyun, and Pope John Paul II.

Roh Moo Hyun is Korea’s president. He fight with his words and make Korea better. He cares of the people and thier rights as citizens.

Pope John Paul is known to be our friend and angel. He helps us be closer to God.

Richard Nixon is the 37th president of the U.S. His destiny was to make the U.S. better.

Mother Tersa is our other friend and angel. She devoted her life to God and she cared for people that were in need of care.

Martin Luther King Jr. is a man with words. He also fought for his people and fought with his words. He always quoted ” I Have A Dream !!”

Mature….

September 13th, 2006

Today while we were waiting for our teacher, about 4 boys in the class started to misbehave. Well I didn’t see the whole thing till our teacher saw what was going on. I was hard to understand what happened, but we know it ws wrong. A class is a unity of students doing things together and getting along better with others in the class, not just talking with the ame group every single day. Well now we know there can be big deals out of a messy problem. If you had a friend who kept messing around, would you still be thier friend? I would say no because a true friend would what you to get in trouble. When we get older and older we get mature. We also know that we acted immature today.
